Ashwagandha Root

Origin: Oregon, USA

This plant is a member of the nightshade family, and has its roots in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Ashwagandha is traditionally considered an Ayurvedic herb that supports memory and learning capacity. At times referred to as the “Indian Ginseng,” it is considered helpful in slowing aging. The plant has gained popularity in the West and is added to tonic blends for its adaptogenic and aphrodisiac properties. The root is believed to encourage youth and vitality, and to balance various conditions through its grounding energy.

The taste is nutty, slightly bitter and astringent. Our team loves to incorporate this root via powdered form and add it to oatmeal, chia pudding and smoothies.
